I am gratified to know that I, with Patrick's assistance once more, have managed to string together words and phrases capable of reaching over time and distance to touch someone else. He would have celebrated, perhaps with one of his martinis, our victory over chaos and indifference. Thank you Janine.
Absolutely lovely, it’s always so amazing to read these stories and memories that my father has told me from another perspective! I hope you’re doing well Anthony.
Anthony, as always, we are grateful for your kindness and friendship through the years. Thank you for writing this beautiful piece and being such a large, and loving, part of our father's life. I re-read it for the third time tonight, and am touched you shared it with the world.
I looked at the photo and thought, “Is that a still from a 1970s TV cop drama?” before I realized it was Tony DePalma (on the left), in his Serpico days.
As I read your tribute, I felt every word so deeply. One moment I was smiling, thinking how extraordinary it is to have a friend so generous in spirit to share life with. The next, my heart ached knowing that you and the world have lost him.
Once again you have written such a poignant piece...I pictured Patrick sitting under the stars in Scotland, as you described...and to get a box of special memories ...just amazing.....
Tip....your dad meant the world to me. Humbly sharing some of my thoughts about him is my way of sharing him with the world.
Thanks Lynn. I had no idea Pat had kept all those manuscripts. He also held on to several of my published articles, some for decades. It was humbling.

Fuck you for making me cry. And it was Liszt not Schubert. Everything else was spot on. Thank you.

Pat M was a larger than life character with a Irish Pot of golden streams of thought ... so enjoyed reading this entry

Just seeing this tender tribute to your late friend while reading your splendid account of how St. Benedict's "does it".... is a privilege.
Thank you. m
